Six and a half seasons later and Pretty Little Liars is finally ending.

The first of the final ten episode airs tonight on Freeform, marking the end of an era for one of television’s most-watched, most-discussed shows.

Over the course of more than 150 episodes, people have been killed off, brought back to life, and accused (and cleared) of a variety of crimes.

There have been visits to mental asylums, hospitals, police stations, therapists, and mask makers.

Evidence has been lost and fabricated, lies told and exposed, texts sent and received, and in preparation to say goodbye to Freeform’s longest-running scripted series, we’ve whittled down its large catalog of episodes to what are undoubtedly the ten best.

Season 1, Episode 1: Pilot

Besides having some excellent music (as much of season one did), this pilot is one of the better ones ever broadcast, immediately dropping us into the picturesque town of Rosewood. Five teenage girls gather for a sleepover, only to wake up missing one of their own. A year later queen bee and mean girl Alison Dilaurentis is still nowhere to be found, and her four friends reconnect as they receive texts from a mysterious A who knows all their secrets. The pilot introduces our (anti)heroines smoothly: Aria returns to town and falls into a relationship with her new English teacher; overachiever Spencer has a crush on her sister’s fiance; the glamorous Hanna maintains her fashionable lifestyle via her sticky fingers; and sporty and sweet Emily is a little fonder of new neighbor Maya than expected. Our girls are instantly sympathetic, despite their poor judgment, and the pilot hits the ground running with intrigue and suspicion.

Best Moment: Six and a half seasons later, all the moments are great especially the ones that kicked off the show’s favorite trends, like the group texts from A and the inappropriate funeral attire.
