5 Times the THIS IS US Premiere Made Us Cry
By Roxanne Sancto
Following the release of the first trailers, we already had a good feeling about NBC’s This Is Us, and great faith in its ability to make us cry.
But nothing could have prepared us for the amount of tissues necessary to get through its pilot episode last night. The characters are easy to relate to, and although they’re all going through their own challenging personal journeys, they never leave you feeling weighted down by their stories. Rather, the opposite is true: as harrowing as their paths may seem at this point in time, we have been given more than a glimpse of their strength and willpower to know they will not lose hope.
And this is wherein lies the beauty of This Is Us; it does not sugarcoat life and the many obstacles we face during our time on this earth, but it acts as a reminder that they can all be overcome with enough love and forgiveness in our hearts. Check out the five major tear-jerkers of the pilot episode below!
Every Moment Jack and Rebecca Share in the Delivery Room
From the moment we are introduced to Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia), we find ourselves adding another entry into our list of #relationshipgoals. Not only was it touching to see Jack still finding his heavily pregnant wife as beautiful and arousing as ever, you can also tell by the way they interact with each other that they make a great team built on love, respect and trust. Jack’s dedication to Rebecca is undeniable; she is his world and he will do anything in his power to protect her. When the doctor tries to discuss possible complications that may arise in birthing their triplets, Jack refuses to let him get into the details in an attempt to shield Rebecca from any unnecessary stress. His tender involvement in the process, his empathy and the emotional support he offers her through sweet words, kisses and gentle massages were absolutely heartwarming to watch.
