There’s no doubt about it. Last week’s episode of The Blacklist was easily the show’s most shocking yet (spoilers ahead if you’re not caught up).

“Mr Solomon: Conclusion” saw Liz die after giving birth to a baby girl, following a high speed car chase, a crash and a hail of bullets. What should have been a joyful moment was cut short by a shocking death that seemed (if you’ve been avoiding social media at least) to come out of left-field.

Is Liz really dead? Is history repeating itself? What manner of revenge will Tom seek against Solomon, and will a tragic loss help or hinder Tom’s fractured relationship with Red?

The latest promo trailer shows a devastated Red explaining (to persons unknown) how he “chose the child” last time, which we’re presuming is a reference to young Liz.

Does this mean that Red is electing to chose the mother this time? And if so, does that mean Liz is still alive, somehow, against the odds?

Our brains, and our hearts, hurt.

Here are some photos (and that trailer) for next Thursday’s “Cape May.” (Note, the promo trailer is labelled “The Artax Network” which as far as we know is actually the title for April 28th’s installment.)

The Network teases:

A mysterious beauty on the run from unknown assailants accidentally crosses paths with Reddington (James Spader) and enlists his help to fight back against her attackers.

“The Artax Network” airs Thursday April 21 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) on NBC.
