Poor Jane. Being outed as the FBI’s biggest mole last season has definitely made the Bureau’s star asset persona non grata around her former team.

Despite being back on track, working the tattoos, and trying to find those behind the terrorist organization Sandstorm, Jane knows she will probably never regain the trusted position she once shared as a member of Kurt Weller’s team.

Of course, it doesn’t help that Jane knows exactly who is behind Sandstorm, and that she’s acting as a triple agent, reporting to both groups and trying to stay one step ahead of being found out by either, or both.

In the first of two new sneak peek clips from Wednesday’s episode we see Zapata questioning whether Jane’s latest tattoo clue could be a trap. But as Weller points out, Jane was the trap, and one they all fell into. (Yes, Kurt, you almost fell right into her vagenda.)

Weller goes on to tell his suspicious teammate that he doesn’t like being in the same room as Jane any more, before realizing that Jane is standing right behind him and in earshot of the entire conversation.

Awkward.

While we choose to see this as a Liar, Liar FBI Pants on Fire moment from Weller, we can’t help but feel Jane’s discomfort nonetheless. You’re breaking our little #Jeller hearts here, Kurt!

Meanwhile, clip 2 reveals a connection to a corrupt DEA agent intent on selling stinger missiles to a drug cartel. (Ok, we didn’t get all that from the clip but trust us, our intel is good.)

Does anyone notice how Jane is just left standing there awkwardly at the end of this scene? It’s like watching Mean Girls, the FBI years.

The “Heave Fiery Knot” episode of Blindspot airs Wednesday Sept 21 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) on NBC.
