Bones is back Thursdays, from Oct. 1 on FOX, and we’re already happily prepping for the season ahead here at ScreenSpy.

Today FOX sent us some initial loglines for the season 11 premiere, along with new details on the show’s crossover event with supernatural drama Sleepy Hollow, now entering its third season.

Catch all the details below.

By the end of Season 10, Booth and Brennan felt the toll of 10 long years surrounded by death and sorrow. Even the joyous news that Brennan was pregnant quickly turned sour as Booth succumbed to his gambling addiction, putting Brennan and the rest of the family in danger. By the season finale, Booth and Brennan were able to reunite as a couple, as they made a mutual decision to quit their jobs and start anew with a focus on life… not death.

Season 11 picks up six months later, with Booth, Brennan, daughter Christine and the new baby, ostensibly living a dream life, a world away from the murder-filled life they left behind. But a case with close personal ties to the couple compels Brennan to become involved in the forensic analysis of the remains, and Booth mysteriously goes missing, prompting an FBI investigation into his whereabouts, led by Agent Grace Miller (guest star Kim Raver).

Also, the worlds of the dead and the undead collide in a special BONES and SLEEPY HOLLOW crossover event airing Thursday, Oct. 29. The grisly discovery of human remains lead Brennan and Booth on a hunt for clues, during which they encounter Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie), searching for answers of their own. Realizing that they are after the same evidence, they team up to solve the mystery. Then, immediately following on SLEEPY HOLLOW (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), the intrigue continues as Ichabod’s old nemesis is back from the dead. Ichabod and Abbie need advanced forensic help and expertise to stop him and turn to Brennan and Booth to unlock 18th century secrets using 21st century science.

Bones returns Thursday Oct. 1 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT on FOX.
