First Look Photos from the THIS IS US Post-Super Bowl Episode

By on January 26, 2018

Fans of NBC’s This is Us now know the rough circumstances in which Jack Pearson died — spoilers ahead for those not caught up on this week’s episode.

Tuesday’s installment “That’ll Be the Day,” revealed that a faulty crockpot, gifted by elderly neighbors, was to blame for starting the house fire which claimed Jack’s life.

The final moments saw the infernal machine spark, then burst into flames, igniting a nearby dish towel, then the curtains, and then all of the Pearson family home, while Jack, Rebecca and Randall were asleep in bed.

We still don’t know how Rebecca and Randall managed to escape alive and unhurt, but we deeply suspect, following the doggy-themed episode this week that touched on Kate’s guilt, that Jack will somehow heroically pull his wife and son to freedom before going back into the fire to rescue Kate’s dog.

All we can hope is that Jack disappearing into the flames won’t be our parting shot of the Pearson Patriarch, and that we get a final smoke-inhaled goodbye in the hospital later — if for no other reason than we are really stocked up on Kleenex right now.

The latest photos from the still unnamed episode (come on, NBC! Give us something!) don’t reveal much in terms of spoilers on Jack’s ultimate fate, but for those of you curious to learn more, we have a full gallery for you below.

The episode is a special post-super bowl installment airing at a slightly later time, but the show will return to its usual Tuesday night timeslot on February 6 with “Across the Border.”

Catch the special episode of This is Us on Sunday, February 4 (10:15PM – 11:15PM) on NBC.
