HBO Gives Series Order to J.J. Abrams’ DEMIMONDE

J.J. Abrams

J.J. Abrams’ latest project may have been the subject of a recent bidding war between Apple and HBO, but the series has finally found a home with the premium cabler.

Demimonde, described as “an epic and intimate sci-fi fantasy drama,” centering on a world’s battle against a monstrously oppressive force, finally received a series order from HBO today.

The big budget production is the first series created and written solely by Abrams since Fringe, which aired on FOX from 2008 to 2013. (If you somehow managed to miss this unique gem it, we highly recommend you find it.)

Abrams is also set to  executive-produce Demimonde in partnership with with Ben Stephenson (The Fall).

Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions, Warner Bros. TV and HBO will produce.

More as we have it.
