JJ Abrams Reveals 3 Frames From ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’

By on October 5, 2012

It was played for laughs but fans of JJ Abrams upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness movie still went nuts over the 3 frames (yes three frames!) of animated Trek footage unveiled during the Conan O’Brien show this week.

Paramount was really unhappy with me for bringing anything,” Abrams told O’Brien before the blink and you’ll miss it clip was played. “But I really wanted to do it. They said ‘it’s got to be really short. It can’t be longer than three frames. It’s 3 frames – but they’re all there!” he joked.

Check out the video for those three frames featuring Zachary Quinto’s Spock, who has descended into a volcano in a special suit. We’ve also got the image – which offers just about as much detail as the one second clip.

Star Trek Into Darkness is slated for theatrical release on May 17th 2013.
