Both Star City and Oliver Queen will kick off Arrow’s fifth season in a dark place.

These just released photos from the show’s Oct. 5 premiere “Legacy” see the return of Stargate Atlantis alum David Nykl as Russian mobster Anatoly Knyazev who has cornered Oliver in an empty alley way — empty of course with the exception of Knyazev’s goons.

Knyazev may have the numbers, but a close ally is about to even the odds. (See our gallery for more details.)

Also making a splash this season are 90’s movie-icon Dolph Lundgren, Josh Segarra who will take on the role of Vigilante, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Jone Dinicol as Ragman, Tyler Ritter as Detective Malone, Carly Pope as an intrepid reporter from Coast City, and Cody Rhodes in an as yet unannounced role.

It looks like Oliver may need all the friends he can get.

Meanwhile, the gallery also presents our first good look at Prometheus — who will most likely present a bigger headache for Team Arrow this season.

In addition to a ripple effect from The Flash’s “flashpoint” storyline (which features some alterations to the timeline that will also affect Star City, in case you’re not up to speed), the season ahead looks to be an action-packed one, based on the above-mentioned casting announcements.
