Shadowhunters hit the ground running with last week’s season premiere “This Guilty Blood.”

This week the action continues in “A Door into the Dark,” a follow up episode which makes us wonder just how the show manages to pack in so many plot developments, character moments and trademark humor into one hour of TV.

The episode will see the hunt for Jace ramping up to the next level with a ‘shoot to kill’ order from the Clave. However when Clary finds herself unexpectedly cut out of proceedings she begins to wonder if she truly belongs among the Shadowhunters.

Meanwhile, Simon finds himself between a rock and a hard place when he is caught between the conflicting demands of Victor Aldertree and fellow vampire Raphael.

We’ve seen the episode a little early, thanks to our friends at Freeform, and have a collection of teasers and tidbits to share with you. As always, we make it a point never to reveal any major plot points that might spoil your enjoyment of the show, but we urge you to proceed with caution, nevertheless.

Shadowhunters stars Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, Dominic Sherwood as Jace Wayland, Alberto Rosende as Simon Lewis, Emeraude Toubia as Isabelle Lightwood, Matthew Daddario as Alec Lightwood, Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Garroway and Harry Shum Jr. as Magnus Bane.

Oh Valentine!

The premiere revealed a devastated and confused Jace Wayland, slowly succumbing to Valentine’s manipulative plans. However, a blood-thirsty killer Jace is not, regardless of how Valentine wishes otherwise.

Episode 2 will see our favorite puppet master attempting to consolidate his hold over the young Shadowhunter, and when a unique opportunity arises, we will see he is not above using someone close to Jace to do his dirty work for him.

Oh Valentine! How could you?
