The 100

By Pauline Perenack

Currently in its third season on the CW, The 100 is a gritty, post-apocalyptic show about a group of 100 adolescents who are sent to Earth from their space station to see if the planet is once again hospitable.

At first glance, the series, based on a trilogy of YA books by Kass Morgan, appears to be geared towards the teen demographic.

However, from the very beginning as the show has grown, so have the characters and nuances behind the scenes.

The 100 has evolved into a series worthy of all demographics.

So if you’ve never seen the show before, here are some reasons why you need to start watching immediately:

Clexa

The complex relationship between Clarke and Grounder leader Lexa suddenly had Clarke fans cheering for another relationship. The two women started out as bitter enemies, both the alpha leader of their clans, but grew to trust each other and became much closer than either had anticipated upon first meeting.

However, with Lexa’s brutal betrayal at the end of season two, Clexa seemed doomed until Lexa used her influence early in season three to bring Clarke to Polis unharmed, reigniting the fanfare on Twitter.

Lexa has made it clear she cares for Clarke, but will Clarke give in to her attraction for the fierce warrior? Even creator/executive producer Jason Rothenberg is a fan.
