Curiouser and curiouser.

Who fans may want to check out this latest Doctor Who mini episode (running at just under seven minutes) from the BBC.

The episode, released online today, serves as a prequel to Doctor Who’s 50th Anniversary episode, airing Saturday Nov. 23 worldwide and starring Matt Smith, David Tennant and John Hurt.

But if you imagined the list of previous doctors ends there, you’re in for a surprise. The stand-alone episode below stars Paul McGann (who starred as the Doctor in the 1996 movie version).

And McGann is not the only Doctor to make an appearance … but we’re won’t spoil you on that front. Just watch the closing moments carefully for more on The War Doctor.
