The Once Upon a Time Cast: Where You Can See Them Next

If like us you’ve been mourning the loss of ABC’s Once Upon a Time ever since that shocking season 2 finale, then fret not. You can still see the cast in action this summer as they take on new and diverse roles in a series of upcoming projects.

Which Once alum is earning critical praise as a serial killer? Who managed to make Rob Lowe ‘extremely emotional’ last week? Who has landed a leading role opposite hunky Lost alum Josh Holloway? Who was recently snapped cozying up to her co-star on the set of her latest film?

Read on for more scoop on what’s keeping the Once Upon a Time cast busy over the hiatus period.

This summer Ginnifer Goodwin takes on a role which seems just as far from Once’s Snow White as it’s probably possible to get. Production on the National Geographic telepic Killing Kennedy started last week in Richmond, Va., and the finished two hour movie will hit screens in November 2013 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Kennedy’s death.

Ginnifer Goodwin takes on the role of Jackie O, and looks every inch the part as recently released images from the set will testify.

The two-hour film is based on the book by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard, centers on Kennedy and Lee Harvey Oswald in the years prior to Kennedy’s death, and the events that shaped his assassination.

Rob Lowe, who takes on the role of Kennedy, tweeted last week “Just saw @ginnygoodwin as Jackie Kennedy in the sad and awful blood-stained dress. Extremely emotional.”

 Jamie Dornan

Jamie Dornan as Paul Spector.

Once Upon a Time’s Huntsman returns to his Northern Irish roots in the critically acclaimed The Fall this summer. The  psychological thriller centers on a serial killer who stalks his victims around the streets of Belfast and the talented female Detective Superintendent from the MET who is brought in to catch him.

Dornan plays Paul Spector, an outwardly respectable husband, father and bereavement counselor who uses a veneer of respectability to hide his murderous agenda. X-Files alum Gillian Anderson plays DSI Stella Gibson, the experienced police superintendent tasked with Spector’s capture.

The Fall is currently airing on Irish TV, but is also available in the US and elsewhere on Netflix. It’s worth checking out.

Jennifer Morrison is currently filming The List opposite Doctor Who’s Karen Gillan.

Described as a romantic comedy, the film centers on Alex (Patrick Fugit, Almost Famous), a young man who begins the mammoth task of seeing through a self-improvement list in order to win the heart of the girl of his dreams. His journey, we are told, triggers a reexamination of his true self, values and perspective on life.

Jennifer plays Katherine Stern. We’re not sure if Katherine is Alex’s true love, or if it’s Karen Gillan’s Lily, but either way we’re excited to see this movie. the image (left) was taken by Fugit on set, and shared by Jennifer recently.

Jamie Chung

You can next catch Jamie Chung in Alfonso Cuaran and J.J. Abrams’ new NBC mid-season series, Believe. The show centers on a 10-year-old girl with supernatural abilities, caught in a war between those who want to use her powers for good  (the True Believers), and people who want them for personal gain.

Chung stars as Channing, a sharp and skilled agent for the “True Believers.” Channing is one of the organizations higher level operatives and believes she – not Tate – is better suited to take care of Bo. She doesn’t fail to let him know either, delivering some pretty quick and cutting exchanges, one of which involves a very large hose.

Chung stars alongside Johnny Sequoyah, Jake McLaughlin and Delory Lindo, who plays Winter, leader of the “True Believers.”

Another actor stepping outside of familiar territory this year is Once’s Red. Meghan Ory has taken on a major co-starring role in CBS’ upcoming Fall drama Intelligence, where she plays Reilly, a young but capable FBI agent assigned to Clockwork, a top secret project involving the US’ most secret weapon. The only thing is the weapon is a man – or Advanced Intelligence Agent (played by Lost’s Josh Holloway) as his creators describe him.

As Reilly’s boss explains, “While other agencies have been busy trying to make artificial intelligence more human, we gave a human the kind of power that had previously only been found in a machine.”

The chip inside the Advanced Intelligence Agent’s head gives him mastery over Internet, telephone, satellite and anything else connected to the information grid.

Reilly’s job is now to protect that precious chip and the cocky and irreverent man containing it.
