Fox Broadcasting has released a new video preview of upcoming medical drama The Mob Doctor.

The show centers on up and coming thoracic surgeon Grace Devlin (Jordana Spiro) who finds herself indebted to the South Chicago Mob when her brother Nate (Jesse Lee Soffer) cannot pay off his enormous gambling debts. Caught between the demands of her own dysfunctional family and those of the crime syndicate to which she is indebted, Grace must walk a fine line between corruption and redemption.

In the following preview video, the cast and crew discuss some of the praiseworthy comparisons the show is already starting to attract – “If House and Goodfellas had a baby, that baby would be named Grace Devlin,” jokes Spiro at one point.

Executive producers Rob Wright and Josh Berman, and cast members Jordana Spiro, Jesse Lee Soffer, William Forsythe, Zach Gilford and Wendy Makkena each give their own unique take on the show.

The pilot episode also features The Secret Circle’s Adam Harrington, in the second of two Josh Berman projects this year. Harrington will also guest on Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva this summer.
More as we have it.

THe star seems like a very appealing person, and I like the guy who plays the mob boss, but the premise seems really silly to me and not a Josh Berman fan AT ALL, so wish them luck but this is one I can miss.
