Fringe Writer to Create DC Comics ‘Booster Gold’ Pilot

By on November 23, 2011

SyFy has asked Fringe script writer Andrew Kreisberg to create a pilot based on the DC Comics superhero Booster Gold, a has-been sports figure from the 25th century who uses future technology and self-promotion in an attempt to become a rich and famous superhero, according to an article in The Hollywood Reporter.

Booster Gold was created by Dan Jurgens in 1986, and has appeared in episodes of the animated shows Justice League Unlimited and Batman: The Brave and the Bold, as well as in the final season of the live action Smallville. The new show, which will be produced by Greg Berlanti (Warehouse 13, The Green Lantern), is planned to be an hour-long live action drama. No information is available yet on who will be playing Booster Gold.
