Body of Proof alum Nic Bishop has signed on to USA Network’s espionage drama Covert Affairs, it was revealed today.

Bishop joins Piper Perabo, Christopher Gorham Hill Harper Kari Matchett and Peter Gallagher as a series regular when the show returns to screens in Summer of 2014.

Bishop whose TV credits include Body of ProofCSI, NCIS: Los Angeles, Hot in Cleveland and Necessary Roughness, will tale on the role of Ryan McQuaid.

McQuaid is described as handsome, magnetic and charming. This former Navy SEAL turned private contractor billionaire is a man of action.  McQuaid and Annie (Perabo) first meet in the field as uneasy allies, but as their relationship intensifies so will Annie’s fears that McQuaid may have a secret agenda.

Season five of the series picks up after CIA operative Annie fakes her death, alters her identity and goes deep undercover in the streets of Hong Kong to defeat her most cunning opponent, Henry Wilcox (guest star Gregory Itzin).  The new season will examine the price Annie will have to pay for this risky manoeuvre and the implications it will have on her relationships – both personally and professionally – as she attempts to re-emerge into the world she once knew.
