Fresh from his diabolical stint on FOX’s Sleepy Hollow, John Noble will join the cast of CBS’ Elementary when the show returns for season 4 this Fall.

The Fringe star will take on the role of Sherlock’s much talked about (and oft maligned) father, who was revealed to be heading to New York following Sherlock’s relapse in the season 3 finale.

Noble’s role as Holmes senior is said to be that of a series regular, so fans can expect plenty of father son interaction in the upcoming season.

“We could not be more delighted to have John Noble taking on such an important role,” said series creator and executive producer Robert Doherty in a statement today.

“We’ve enjoyed his work for many years now — especially his tremendous run on Fringe — and cannot wait to see him opposite Jonny and Lucy. It’s going to be an exciting season.”

The Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu starring Elementary returns for a fourth season Fall 2015.
