NBC’s Dracula is in the news again this week with the casting additions of Lucy and Renfield.

TVLine broke the news yesterday that Merlin alumna Katie McGrath (Morgana) will take on the role of the ill-fated Lucy Westenra, the flirtatious best friend of Mina Murray, and one of Dracula’s most memorable victims.

According to the report Lucy is set to become “entwined in a web of lies, lust and temptation that challenges the boundaries of their relationship.”

Plus, there’s the whole getting your head chopped off thing.

Meanwhile, Game of Thrones’ Nonso Anozie (Qarth the stealer of dragons!) will take on the role of R.M. Renfield, the count’s closest confidante (read henchman) and the man responsible for allowing Dracula to pose as a wealthy businessman by day.

Described as Dangerous Liaisons meets The Tudors, Dracula takes place in Victorian London, where the count poses as an American entrepreneur intent on educating the Victorians in the ways of modern science. However he secretly seeks to revenge himself on those who ruined his life centuries earlier.

His plans are thrown into turmoil however when he encounters a young woman, Mina, who may just be the reincarnation of his deceased wife.

Dracula stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the title role. It was announced last week that Arrow’s Jessica de Gouw has signed on to play Mina.
