Heroes alum Milo Ventimiglia has landed a role on Frank Darabont’s upcoming crime drama LA Noir.

Based on John Buntin’s book L.A. Noir: The Struggle For The Soul Of America’s Most Seductive City, and set in Los Angeles in the 1940’s and 50’s, the greenlit drama traces the decades long struggle between the LAPD and the mob.

The production has also attracted The Walking Dead’s Jon Bernthal who is hotly tipped for the role of former marine Joe Teague, giving rise to much speculation over his character’s fate on the AMC zombie drama.

Deadline reports that Ventimiglia will play Ned Stax, another former marine who served with Teague during the second world war.

Stax is described as a budding lawyer, groomed to be a master fixer for Mickey Cohen.
