Paul McGillion's 'Captain Starship' Pilot to Have American Premiere in LA

Captain Starship, a science fiction comedy pilot starring Paul McGillion (Dr. Carson Beckett of Stargate:Atlantis) will be screened at the Los Angeles Stargate Convention November 18-20, Creation Entertainment confirmed this week. Ivan Bartok produced the pilot, which had its world premiere in front of a wildly enthusiastic crowd last weekend at the HalfWay Convention in Marseille, France.  The show stars McGillion as Pauly Sullivan, an actor who plays heroic Captain Frank Lucas in a cheesy SF adventure show called Captain Starship, but whose real life is complicated by a motley crew of lowlife friends, an annoying ex-girlfriend, and his 12-year-old live-in nephew.

Check out the hilarious trailer for the pilot, which also features Stargate alum Michael Shanks as the star of a rival SF show.  Here’s hoping the show gets picked up by a network so we can enjoy the adventures of Captain Lucas every week!
