When Rick injures his knee in Castle’s 100th episode, he finds himself at a loose end.

Unable to work and unable to write because of the brain-numbing effects of his pain medication (he used to word ‘speculate’ three times in the same sentence) he is relegated to the sidelines – and his apartment for the time being.

However when Alexis jokingly makes him a present of a pair of binoculars in a nod to the classic Hitchcock film Rear Window, life begins to imitate art when Rick suspects one of his neighbors has just committed a murder.
