Supernatural medical drama Saving Hope will return for a second run of thirteen episodes on Canada’s CTV, it emerged today. Despite a like-warm reception in the US, the show, which stars Michael Shanks (Stargate SG:1) and Erica Durance (Smallville), was rated the top prime-time Canadian series this summer.

The show centers on Charlie Harris, (Shanks) chief of surgery at Zion Hospital, who falls into a coma following a car accident, leaving his fiancee Alex (Durance) to pick up the pieces, both personally and professionally. In his coma-state, Charlie has the ability to both communicate with the dead, and witness Alex’s pain first-hand without being able to reach out to her.

The show is currently airing Thursdays on NBC and CTV.
