Scream TV Series Coming to MTV

By on June 4, 2012

MTV is developing a Scream TV series, based on the horror film franchise, reports TV Line.

According to the report, the project is being developed by former MTV execs Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley who are searching for a writer to draft the pilot script. Original Scream franchise creators Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven are not currently linked to the project. Craven is working on a new thriller, Home, from Appian Way while Williamson is currently involved with The Following, which premiers on FOX later this year.  However with Willaimson’s strong pedigree in teen-skewed horror (The Faculty, I Know What You Did Last Summer, The Curse, Venom, The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle) he would be a suitable, if rather obvious, candidate for writing duties.

More as we have it.

I’m not really seeing how that could work, but I guess we’ll see what’s up in the months to come!
