Script Was ‘An Absolute Page-Turner’ Says The Following Star Kevin Bacon
Gritty serial-killer drama The Following from Kevin Williamson (Scream, The Vampire Diaries) comes to FOX this fall.
Starring Kevin Bacon (X-Men: First Class) and James Purefoy (Rome), the drama kicks off when notorious serial killer Joe Carroll (Purefoy) escapes from death row seventeen days before his scheduled execution and embarks on a new killing spree. The FBI calls former agent Ryan Hardy (Bacon) to consult on the case.
Having since withdrawn from the public eye, Hardy was responsible for Carroll’s capture nine years ago, after Carroll murdered 14 female students on the Virginia college campus where he taught literature. Hardy’s team includes all-business and tough-as-nails Jennifer Mason (Jeananne Goossen, The Vow, Alcatraz) and young, razor-sharp Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore, “X-Men”).
In the following behind the scenes video, creator and executive producer Kevin Williamson and star Kevin Bacon discuss the anatomy of the show and its characters, with Bacon describing his first impression of the pilot script as ‘an absolute page turner, anchored with a character I could really sink my teeth into.‘
The Following premiers on FOX this Fall.
