Sherlock’s Romantic Interest Cast

By on August 3, 2011

This just in.  Actress Lara Pulver (True Blood, Robin Hood) has been cast in the BBC’s upcoming second season of Sherlock.

Pulver will play Irene Adler in the first episode of the new season, A Scandal in Belgravia.

The episode is based on the Sherlock Holmes short story A Scandal in Bohemia, and will essentially be a twisted love story of sorts.

Details are sketchy at this point but we do know that Sherlock becomes fascinated by Adler when she successfully manages to outwit him, something we imagine does not happen in his world very often.

The episode was written by Doctor Who show runner and Sherlock co-creator Steven Moffat.

Sherlock was created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. The series is produced by Hartswood films for the BBC.

Season 2, comprising 3 new 90 minute episodes, returns to screens in the UK early 2012 and will most likely appear State Side shortly afterwards on PBS.
