Some Chance for ‘Locke and Key’ Afterall?

By on September 8, 2011

Locke and Key was another supernatural pilot that didn’t make it this year. Passed over by Fox earlier this year, the Joe Hill graphic Novel adaptation, written by Josh Friedman and directed by Mark Romanek, later did the rounds with other networks but failed to strike a deal with any.

The would-be series experienced a brief surge in interest during this year’s Comic Con when IDW, the publisher of the Locke & Key comic, organized a pilot screening followed by a panel with executive producers Friedman, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.

More recently, a leaked trailer for the show (see below) managed to pique interest once again by going viral on the internet.

Word is the DVD pilot is now in the hands of MTV programming chief David Janollari, who has expressed interest.  Janollari has yet to meet with Locke and Key producers, therefore making any glimmer of hope for a series a tentative one for now.
