Take a First Look at Helix, Syfy’s New Thriller from Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald Moore

By on April 16, 2013

Among an impressive number of new scripted series (16 in all) announced by Syfy during Upfronts last week, comes Helix, described as ‘an epic thriller’ from Battlestar Galactica’s Ronald D. Moore.

The new series follows a team of scientists who investigate a possible disease outbreak in an Arctic research facility, only to and find themselves trying to protect the world from annihilation.

If we’re reminded of John Carpenter’s 1982 classic scifi horror The Thing, than the comparison can only be a good one.

Check out the slick clinical first look teaser trailer for Helix below.

Helix is executive produced by Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica), Steven Maeda (Lost, CSI: Miami) and Lynda Obst (Contact) and comes from Lynda Obst Pictures & Tall Ship Productions and Sony Pictures Television.
