The Newsroom returns to HBO Sunday July 14 for a second season. And if you’ve spent the last several months wondering what real life news events the show will cover then we can tell you that both the 2012 Presiendtial election and the Occupy Wall Street movement will feature in the first half of the new season. Additionally, the News Night team will deal with a wrongful termination suit that may see one of their own getting fired.

This particular storyline kicks off in the season premiere “First Thing We Do, Let’s Kill All the Lawyers,” when Will and the staff find themselves questioned by a lawyer, and an on-air remark gets Will pulled from the September 11th anniversary coverage. Meanwhile, Jim volunteers to cover for a reporter on the Romney campaign.

Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Olivia Munn and Dev Patel star.

Series creator Aaron Sorkin executive produces along with Scott Rudin and Alan Poul.
