The Secret Circle Cast: Where You Can See Them Next
Although the short lived Secret Circle may be canned (we still tear up at the thoughts of that unrealized second season) the cast continues to impress with a series of new projects kicking off this summer and heading into next year.
Which 2 circle alums are on TV right now? Which witch went to the very dark side this summer? Read fellow Aussie actress Claire Holt’s reaction to Phoebe Tonkin’s latest role. Find out who has five films in the works, and help us solve Gale Harold’s riddle involving speed, wheels, freedom, excellent tailoring and durability.
If you want to know where you can catch an ex-witch this summer, keep reading.
Gale can currently be seen Mondays in Syfy’s Defiance. The actor recently told ScreenSpy exclusively that his character Connor Lang, is “a government agent who works for the Earth alliance. He’s climbing the ranks. He’s very ambitious. He sort of walks the line between diplomacy and some of the more hard-knuckled aspects of the world that they’re all in – this post-apocalyptic tribal war zone. I think, like any good politician, he’s taking his chances when they present themselves. But he’s got some past history with Amanda [Julie Benz] and I think he’s sort of trying to get reunited with her on some level. He’s really interested in having her come on board with his vision of how the Government should be run.”
As for future projects? Gale teases “Realistically, I have three things that I’m actively engaged in trying to bring forward and one more that is sort of floating around. I’m trying to figure out how to bring that one down to the ground. One of the three is a completely different avenue for me. It’s something completely new. It involves speed, wheels, freedom, excellent tailoring and durability.”
Sound off below if you think you can guess what this refers to.
Earlier this year Adam guested on a CSI episode entitled “Code Blue Plate Special” as an obsessive stalker who becomes the chief suspect in a case involving multiple homicides. Fans responded to his very unique character Ronald Basderic to the extent that a second episode “Forget Me Not” focusing on Basderic’s new obsession with seeking revenge on Jorja Fox’s Sara Sidle was ordered.
This summer, Adam guested on CBS’ Criminal Minds, as a dangerous criminal masquerading as a victim. Adam describes the role as a dark and intense experience. “After being underground in a cell for a week I took off after it was done and just sat on a beach in the sun for a few days,” the actor told ScreenSpy recently.
But don’t expect to see Adam resting on his laurels for long. The ever busy Circle alum tells us he’s currently in talks to resume his role as Basderic next season. It’s not Ethan Conant, but we’re really digging this darker side Adam’s been exploring recently.
It was only a matter of time before we saw Secret Circle star Britt Robertson back on TV. Under the Dome comes to CBS on Monday June 24th. Based on a 2009 Stephen King novel, the drama centers on Chester’s Mill, a small New England town that becomes sealed off from the rest of the world by a giant transparent dome.
The show, produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment, will follow the town’s efforts for survival and their attempts to escape the dome. Britt has signed on to play Angie, a young waitress and aspiring nurse who has always dreamed of leaving her small town home for greater things but finds her life unexpectedly put on hold when she discovers she is trapped inside the town.
Our favorite line of the pilot involves Angie’s casual comment about the situation. “Looks like we’re stuck in a giant fish bowl. I used to have fish. But then one of them got sick and the other one ate him.”
Grey Damon’s role as shady voodoo practitioner Lee LaBeque may have been short-lived, but the character (or was it Grey’s good looks?) struck a chord with many Circle fans who thought Lee was gone too soon. Grey can currently be found on ABC Family’s brand new drama Twisted.
The series follows Danny Desai (Avan Jogia), a 16-year-old with a troubled past who returns to his hometown after spending five years in juvenile detention.
Danny attempts to reconnect with his two childhood best friends, Jo (Maddie Hasson) and Lacey (Kylie Bunbury) but discovers they have grown apart.
While Jo is introverted, Lacey has become popular and is dating the hunky captain of the soccer team, Archie, who is played by Grey. Perfect casting? We think so.
Jessica Parker Kennedy
Jess has signed on to Starz’ new pirate drama Black Sails. The series, which is expected to air early 2014 and serves as a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island, stars Toby Stephens as the legendary pirate captain Flint and Luke Arnold as John Silver – a new addition to the crew. The series will see the crew fighting for their survival in the infamous New Providence Island, a haven for pirates, thieves and prostitutes. Jessica will play ‘a beautiful and capable French prostitute’ named Max, according to reports.
Black Sails will be executive produced by Michael Bay. Catch the official trailer below.
We were looking forward to hearing more about Thomas Dekker’s guest role on CBS’ Backstrom pilot episode. Thomas had signed on to play Valentine, a man of many talents including decorator, crook and Backstrom’s connection to the criminal underworld. (We heard Valentine also liked to make use of his employer’s apartment to stash his ill-gotten booty.)
However, CBS passed on the series, thus depriving us of what was surely a fun and interesting character for the Circle alum.
Thomas is not one to rest on his laurels though, and currently boasts a staggering five films in pre and post production over the 2013/2014 period.
They include My Eleventh, Transference, The White City, Pretenders and The Potters. Film buffs can expect to see a lot more of Thomas both this year and next.
She’s Haley the Werewolf on the CW’s new series The Originals. As if you didn’t already know! The move from The Secret Circle to The Vampire Diaries was an obvious one for this genre-friendly actress. Phoebe’s looks and charm were an instant fit on the CW favorite, and it seemed only fitting that she should join the Originals cast once her stint on Diaries was complete. Speaking to ScreenSpy in an exclusive interview last year, fellow Aussie cast mate Claire Holt spoke about Phoebe’s transition from witches to werewolves saying “Phoebe! My best friend! When I found out she was coming on the show I don’t think I squealed more loudly in my life. Ever. And I was on set. It’s so great.”
Check out the now famous “The girl is carrying your child” clip below and catch The Originals, Tuesdays in the 8/7c from October.
