The CW’s new Thursday night line up consisting of The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle have proved to be a powerful ratings combination.
The CW recently released a slew of ratings statistics for both shows which indicate freshman series The Secret Circle is bound for success, while The CW’s number one show, The Vampire Diaries, returning for its third season, is as popular as ever.
The Secret Circle pilot managed to hold 100% of the 3 million viewers of The Vampire Diaries, which aired the previous hour. Circle also matches the CW’s all-time high in its time period in the key ‘women aged 18-34’ demographic, proving that the combination of Gale Harold, Adam Harrington and Natasha Henstridge are draw for those outside of the teen demographic. However teens have reason to celebrate also as the show also hit best female teen audience in in the time period in more than four years.
The Vampire Diaries experienced its best performance in viewers (3 Million) since February 2011. It was also ranked number one in its time period in the key ‘women aged 18-34’ demographic.
The CW ranked number one in primetime among adults 18-34 in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Phoenix, Tampa, Miami, Orlando, Sacramento, Portland and Baltimore.
