The Walking Dead Returns With 90 Minute Premiere

AMC’s much anticipated second season of The Walking Dead will premiere with a 90 minute long season opener, it was revealed yesterday.

The critically acclaimed show airs at 9pm ET on Sunday October 16th and kicks off a two week long AMC Fearfest.

The show will continue with 6 one hour long episodes in the weeks to follow.

The 90 minute season opener will also be launched globally on all Fox International Channels, following the US premiere.

According to AMC, season two of the hit zombie drama reaches audiences in 122 countries, speaking 35 languages and is seen by over 200 million households globally.

    I hate the fact that they are splitting up the season, too long of a hiatus. Fans forget and that hurts ratings.

    what exactly does “The 90 minute season opener will also be launched globally on all Fox International Channels, following the US premiere” mean? that those of use outside the usa won’t have to have to wait another *year* before it is broadcast in our countries? or will we be able to see the premier, but still have to wait ages for the rest of the episodes?
