Coming to CBS this Fall is Intelligence, a new drama starring Lost alum Josh Holloway as Gabriel –  the first supercomputer with a beating heart, and the most valuable piece of technology the US has ever created.

Gabriel is a  high-tech intelligence operative enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. With this implant, he is the first human ever to be connected directly into the worldwide information grid and have complete access to Internet, WiFi, telephone and satellite data.  He can hack into any data center and access key intel in the fight to protect the United States from its enemies.

    So this is John Reese with The Machine in his head, and about one tenth of the personality of both.

    Did ABC pass on this and this is why it’s ended up at CBS? Why would they buy this show when they have the smarter, better-written Person of Interest on the night before?

    It looks shallow and the main character seems smug and unlikeable at first glance. Cue witty wisecracks between two partners who can’t stand each but of course are going to end up in will they won’t they land, and a show with lots of gadgets but little heart, and some rather trite and silly plots.
