THIS IS US: The Pearson Family is in Crisis on Valentine’s Day
Last week Jack and Rebecca were TV’s most loved up couple, but what a difference a TV week makes.
This is Us returns tonight to a family in crisis as, in the past, Rebecca prepares to leave on a month-long tour with her band, one of whom who just happens to be her ex.
Where was that little nugget of information last week?
The ensuing Valentine’s day tension causes a rift between Jack and Rebecca and prompts Jack to fall back into a destructive habit. (Yes, he goes there guys.)
The present is no less fraught as opening night looms and Kevin begins to have nightmares about his abilities as an actor and the play’s success. While Kevin will spend much of the hour bouncing from family member to family member in search of comfort and support, it’s ultimately Miguel who will be on hand to steady the ship.
Watch out for a beautiful scene from Jon Huertas here, guys.
Meanwhile Randall begins to come apart at the seams as his father’s health takes a major decline, and work pressures mount.
And Toby and Kate take the time to reassess their relationship with a “deep dive” into their pasts, prompting a question from Toby we’ve all longed to hear the answer to: How did Jack Pearson die?
Titled “Jack Pearson’s Son,” tonight’s offering is probably one of the densest to date. There’s a lot to unpack here, so prepare to see your favorite characters breaking new ground in a number of ways.
If you’re looking for a sneak peek, we’ve got an exclusive scene below featuring the beginnings of a disastrous day for Randall.
The “Jack Pearson’s Son” episode of This is Us airs Tuesday, February 14 on NBC.
