The Mysteries of Laura Season 1 Episode 2 “The Mystery of the Dead Date” Synopsis

The Mysteries of Laura premieres in a special time slot on NBC on September 17.

The series stars Will and Grace star Debra Messing as Laura Diamond, a brilliant NYPD homicide detective who balances her professional day job with a crazy family life that includes unruly twin boys and a soon-to-be ex-husband (Josh Lucas) — also a cop — who just can’t seem to sign the divorce papers. Somehow, she makes it all work with the help of her sexy and understanding partner (Laz Alonso). For Laura, every day is a high-wire balancing act.

The show will settle into its regularly scheduled timeslot on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. beginning September 24, with “The Mystery of the Dead Date.”

WHEN A WOMAN IS MURDERED ON AN ONLINE DATE LAURA GOES UNDERCOVER TO FIND THE KILLER

When an online hook-up ends in murder, Laura (Debra Messing) creates her own dating website profile and – under Billy’s (Laz Alonso) watchful eye – uses herself to bait the killer.

While Laura goes undercover at Manhattan’s hottest night spots, Jake (Josh Lucas) finally inks the divorce papers, prompting Laura to reconsider the dating scene for real.

Ricky Paul Golden guest stars.
