The Secret Circle's Gale Harold: 5 Things to Know

If you tuned into The Secret Circle this week then chances are you were wowed by the evil machinations of Chance Harbor’s Charles Meade.  Scratch the surface of Meade’s outwardly respectable demeanor and you’ll see a man who wouldn’t think twice about burning down your house – with you in it, or using magic to partially drown you. Meade is played by actor Gale Harold. Did you know that …

1. Gale started acting aged 28, and only after his friend Susan Landau Finch, (daughter of Space 1999‘s Martin Landau) encouraged him to do it. He previously worked as a carpenter and motorcycle mechanic.

2. One of Gale’s most famous roles to date was as Brian Kinney in Queer as Folk. Gale made such an impression on viewers that two full years after the show ended, His and Randy Harrison’s characters Brian and Justin won a Gay.com poll for TV’s Favorite Gay Couple. They won in a landslide. Gale has also appeared on the front cover of the well known Gay magazine Advocate.

There’s more play. It’s not a mad dash to get your rocks off. And kissing men who, even after they’ve shaved, have the roughest skin. I’ve got the worst burns on my face.”

3. Gale is not gay.

4. On the inside of his right middle finger, he has a tattoo with the word Resist.

5. In a recent Secret Circle interview when asked what special magic ability he would like to have Gale replied “The best one is when you can make your wallet fill up with hundred dollar bills, you know that one?
