Get ready Haven fans. That small New England seaside town we love so much is about to be hit by troubles like we’ve never seen before.

Haven returns for a final 13 episodes, rounding out the show’s fifth season on Oct. 8, and kicking off with 2 back to back episodes “New World Order” and “Power.”

We’ve seen the episode a little early, thanks to our friends over at Syfy, and have 5 teasers to share with you.

If you’re a regular reader of these types of articles here at ScreenSpy, then you’ll know we do our best to avoid spoiling major developments and plot lines that might otherwise ruin your enjoyment of the episode (we want you to enjoy it as much as we did).

For that reason, we consider the following carefully structured and worded points to be teasers rather than outright spoilers. However, as always, we urge you to be cautious, as one man’s teaser is another man’s spoiler.

Here then are 5 things you might like to know about Haven’s extra large season opener.

Mara’s Last Laugh?

Mara may be gone but it seems she’s definitely had the last laugh where Audrey (Emily Rose), Nathan (Lucas Bryant), Duke (Eric Balfour) and Dwight (Adam Copeland) are concerned.

When we last checked in on Duke, he was spewing up a million Troubles. The season premiere shows us exactly what happens to Duke and those Troubles next.

If you’re thinking ‘random people suddenly struck with strange and frightening new abilities triggered by intense emotions’ then you’re absolutely correct. Now add to that a dense and literally impenetrable fog surrounding the town, cutting off all escape routes, and you’ve got the perfect conditions for Haven to tear itself apart.

The two hour opener will see Audrey, Nathan, Duke and Dwight under pressure like never before. But as hard as it may be to believe, this scenario is only the beginning of their problems.
