One Direction Split … But it’s Not the End, Say Sources
It may not be the best news to wake up to on a Monday morning, but teen sensation and pop idols One Direction will split in March 2016 so that its members Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan can focus on solo projects, it was revealed late yesterday.
“The boys have been together for five years, which is an incredible run for any boyband,” a source told British tabloid The Sun. “It is definitely not a split and they intend to get back together at some point in the future.”
Zayn Malik’s recent solo deal coupled with Tomlinson’s impending fatherhood added fuel to recent speculation that the boyband were on the verge of a split.
“They deserve to have at least a year to work on their own projects. There is absolutely no bad blood between them and they are all 100% behind the decision,” added the source.
The quartet are currently touring with their On the Road Again worldwide tour, having recently released a video for Drag Me Down at the NASA space station.
Following the tour, the band will continue to work on their fifth studio album, however it now seems unlikely that they will take it on the road.
