AGENTS OF SHIELD “No Regrets” Sneak Peeks

Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) is refusing to give up on Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), but fans are finding it hard to reconcile the adorable, bumbling, scientist nerd we all know and love with the cold and calculating ‘Doctor’ we’ve all seen in recent episodes of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Despite seeing him murder Ada — sorry, Madam Hydra’s — doppelgänger in cold blood last week, Simmons is still sure that the real Fitz is there, just under the surface.

Is Framework Fitz as heartless and cruel as he appears, or could he be masquerading as a loyal HYDRA agent long enough to figure out what’s really going on? While it’s hard to see the wood for the trees at this point, new loglines for the show’s upcoming April 18 episode do tease the following nugget concerning “Fitz’s secret.”

“The truth behind Fitz’s turn could bring down all of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

What truth? What secret? This week’s episode will likely reveal more. But in the meantime, we’re not the only ones wondering if Simmons is crazy to hold out hope. This new sneak peek clip from the Wednesday’s instalment (Ed: We’ve got a second clip posted now too) sees both Mace (seriously, when is Jason O’Mara going to headline his own show again? This guy has serious screen presence and we miss him!) and Ward (Brett Dalton) consider the possibility that Simmons may not be in full possession of her faculties.

Mace sends Ward to find out more, but will what he learns about the Framework destroy him? After all, if Ward comes to accept that his world is not real, he will also have to accept that he too is not real.

Catch the full clip below.
