CBS has renewed supernatural series Evil for a second season.

The news comes as the network announced additional episodes (full first-season orders) for freshmen series Bob ♥ Abishola, All Rise, Carol’s Second Act, and The Unicorn, this week.

Evil, starring  Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, and Michael Emerson is a supernatural procedural that sets out to explore the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion.

The series focuses on a skeptical female psychologist (Herbers) who joins a priest-in-training (Colter) and a contractor (Mandvi) as they investigate the Church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions and hauntings.

Their job is to assess if there is a logical explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work. However, along the way, the trio are thwarted by the mysterious Leland Townsend (Emerson), who appears to have supernatural abilities of his own, and may just be the Devil himself.

Michelle King, Robert King and Liz Glotzer are executive producers for CBS Television Studios.

Evil airs Thursdays (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The show will conclude its 13-episode first season on Jan. 30, 2020.
