At first glance, Ben Larson appears to have it all. A top job in a powerful company, influential friends, an adoring wife and every comfort his wealth and status can provide.

But scratch the surface, and we quickly see that Ben is not only a fraud, but a desperate man willing to do just about anything, and betray anyone, to find the woman he loves.

Incorporated is a new futuristic thriller (from executive producers Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Ted Humphrey and Jennifer Todd) premiering on Syfy this week, and deliciously futuristic it is too.

The series paints a future where companies have seemingly unlimited power. As the year 2100 approaches, the world is in environmental and political meltdown. We learn that as governments of the 21st Century fell, corporations gradually took control. The haves and the have-nots now find themselves living in the affluent Green Zones, and derelict and poverty-stricken Red Zones. (Canada, saddled with 12 million plus illegal aliens, has also built a wall to stem the tide of illegal immigration from the blighted United States. It’s not stated if they made the US pay for it, or not.)

The series centers around the aforementioned Ben Larson (Sean Teale), aka Aaron, a young man who we learn in the pilot episode escaped the Red Zone 5 years ago to assume a new identity. Now working as a young executive in the Green Zone, Ben has not forgotten those he left behind, including Elena, the woman he loves, and her younger brother Theo.

With both Elena and Theo in imminent danger from gangs, slavery and prostitution, Ben realizes he must ascend the corporate ladder as quickly as he can in order to use his power and influence to covertly save them. However, with paranoia running rampant in Ben’s company following what appears to be a case of violent industrial sabotage, Ben realizes that the higher up the corporate ladder he moves, the more visible and exposed to scrutiny he is. Knowing exposure will carry deadly consequences, Ben’s every move must be carefully and meticulously carried out.

Incorporated follows in the footsteps of recent superior efforts from Syfy, such as The Expanse, providing exciting scifi visuals, intriguing future-concepts and enough dramatic tension to make you want to check out the next episode.

With just one advance screening under our belt here at ScreenSpy, we can’t say if future episodes will share the same impressive production values, but the collection of sharply-drawn characters and the high-stakes nature of the series should keep people coming back for more.

The series stars Sean Teale as Ben Larsen, Julia Ormond as Elizabeth Krauss, Dennis Haysbert as Julian Morse, Allison Miller as Laura Larson, and Eddie Ramos as Theo.

Syfy favorite David Hewlett also guests in the pilot episode as Ben’s boss Mr Peterson.

Incorporated premieres on Wednesday November 30 from 10-11 p.m. ET on Syfy.
