Styled: H&M Mock-Turtleneck

By on February 12, 2016

Turtlenecks and other high neck sweaters are everywhere this fall and winter. Being inspired by various style bloggers and celebrities I went in search of a sleek, black mock turtleneck. Mock turtlenecks are really great for people who can’t commit to having their head feel like it’s being suffocated by a turtle’s shell (like myself), and they look so much better simply being a high neck. They are an essential part to every it girl’s Fall/Winter outfit which I’ve recreated here but more on that later.

This solid mock turtleneck is from H&M and has become one of my favorite wardrobe pieces. It runs true to size and has 3/4 length sleeves which is perfect for chilly mornings converting to warm afternoons (and back to chilly evenings). I can’t praise it enough. My favorite way to wear it is with jeans and a leather jacket, but it works seamlessly with skirts and trousers. In fact, the essential it girl outfit I mentioned earlier is a simple pairing of another trendy item, the a-line skirt.

Below I’ve styled this essential mock turtleneck the three ways mentioned above and included plenty of other high neck sweater options.

Zara flats, Topshop cigarette trousers, Kate Spade sunglasses, Coach satchel, Diane von Furstenberg bracelets, J. Crew trench coat

Rag & Bone skinny jeans, ASOS biker jacket, Zara clutch, Sam & Libby ankle boots, Urban Outfitters necklace, Forever 21 rings

Topshop skirt, Stuart Weitzman boots, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Ray-Ban sunglasses, Fossil watch, A.P.C. bracelet, Miansai bracelet

Forever 21, BCBGeneration, ASOS, H&M, Alexa Chung for AG Jeans, Topshop, Reiss, French Connection
