Good news for all those who like to binge watch their scifi.

SYFY announced this weekend that it intends to premiere George R.R. Martin’s new horror thriller Nightflyers as an event this December.

The cabler will debut the series starting with episodes 1-5 on Sunday, Dec. 2 through Thursday, Dec. 6 at 10/9c.

Episodes 6-10 will air from Sunday, Dec. 9 through Thursday, Dec. 13 at 10/9c with limited commercial interruption across all platforms. (We hear that weekend marathons will also give fans an additional opportunity to catch up on the series.)

Set in the year 2093, Nightflyers follows a team of scientists aboard The Nightflyer, the most advanced ship ever built, as they embark on a journey to find other life forms.

Their mission takes them to the edge of the solar system, and to the edge of insanity, as they realize true horror isn’t waiting for them in outer space—it’s already on their ship.

The series stars Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Gretchen Mol, Jodie Turner-Smith, Angus Sampson, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, and Brían F. O’Byrne, and is based on the novella by George R.R. Martin, who also serves as an executive producer.
