THE 100: How Will The Series End?

The CW show The 100 has been going strong for six seasons, and in this seventh and final season, the main characters are forced to come to terms with the decisions they’ve made over the years, and find answers to questions they’ve had about themselves.

In their final Comic Con panel, creator and executive producer Jason Rothenburg joins series stars Marie Avgeropoulos, Lindsey Morgan, Richard Harmon, Tasya Teles, Shannon Kook, JR Bourne, and Shelby Flannery to discuss what to expect in season seven, and how the journey may end. As such, we learned:

  1. Rothenburg wanted to make sure that season seven wrapped up all of the questions that had arisen during the series run.
  2. Avgeropoulos said that it had been such a pleasure to play Octavia over the years because her character changed every year.
  3. Rothenburg was so grateful for both Teles and Flannery who took up a lot of extra work when things changed very quickly and unexpectedly at the beginning of the season.
  4. Kook is excited to see how Jordan evolves this season, while Rothenburg says that Jordon’s journey takes us to the very end of the season, and it proves to be very pivotal.
  5. Harmon is looking forward to see where Murphy’s allegiances will ultimately lie as things wrap up for the season.
  6. This was Flannery’s first job out of drama school, and no one was sure how she would be. Her first day ended up being the final day of shooting on season six, which was a really tough day, and Rothenburg ended up apologizing to her for such a rough start.
  7. Teles had a fear that every script was the one that would be the one that killed her off, whereas Morgan said that during season four when Raven’s mind was breaking, crew members were telling her goodbye, so she was really worried about being killed off.
  8. At the end of shooting, Teles took a painting of Murphy from set, plus managed to get everyone’s chair backs. Rothenburg took the Flame box. Flannery took a wooden spoon. Morgan took home Raven’s jacket. Avgeropoulos walked away with nothing.

The 100 is a show that has evolved greatly over its run, and characters have come and gone. A compilation of messages was played that included a lot of the characters who departed the show, and it was so great to see some of them again. However, as the series nears its completion, it will be interesting to see how it finally ends, especially since the main characters have had limited screen time this season. These characters have been through a lot, and it’s good to see that the actors playing them connect deeply with their characters and fellow cast members, ultimately creating a world that has brought together a wonderful fan base, who will be watching the final sendoff of their beloved characters and show.

The 100 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW. You can find the Comic-Con@Home panel at: https://youtu.be/tHgcAGZhjdI
