THIS IS US Photos: Kevin Returns to His Old High School to Accept an Award in Episode Season 2 Episode 8 “Number One”

This is Us is about to roll out a series of episodes that delve deeper into the lives of each of the Pearson children over the next three weeks.

November 14th kicks things off with Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley) in “Number One,” an episode that sees Kevin going back to his high school to accept an award.

The moment will be a bitter sweet one for Kevin who is, as his ex-wife Sophia (Alexandra Breckinridge) observed in Tuesday’s episode now “spiralling” out of control.

Hooked on pain meds, and plagued by unresolved issues that hark back to the loss of his football career, his father’s expectations, and subsequent death, and coupled with his inability to see something good in himself, Kevin is most definitely on a journey of self exploration.

As it tends to happen on This is Us, this painful journey will be juxtaposed with flashbacks to the past in which Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) get excited about their kids’ futures.

The “Number One” episode of This is Us airs Tuesday, November 14 (09:00PM – 10:01PM) on NBC.

(The episode is followed by the Kate-centric “Number Two” on November 21, and Randall’s “Number Three” on November 28.)
