Bones: 5 Things to Know About

Wow, Bones really knows how to do a season premiere.

Last night’s episode (spoilers for “The Loyalty in the Lie” follow) saw Brennan facing extreme pressure to prove to the lab – and to herself – that the charred remains of their latest victim were not those of her husband.

While Brennan worked to uncover the identity of the man who so closely resembled Booth as to be his doppelganger (or brother as it turned out) Booth was fighting to bring his brother’s Navy pals to justice, becoming critically injured in the process.

Meanwhile, Aubrey and Caroline were becoming more and more suspicious of Agent Grace Miller, and Arastoo’s future at the lab seemed less certain with each passing hour.

The story picks up the pieces again in next Thursday’s “The Brother in the Basement,” an episode which will give fans an insight into Booth’s very bad day, and the team’s continued efforts to locate him before time runs out.

We’ve seen the episode a little early, thanks to our friends over at FOX, and have 5 teasers to share with you.

If you’re a regular reader of these types of articles here at ScreenSpy, then you’ll know we do our best to avoid spoiling major developments and plot lines that might otherwise ruin your enjoyment of the episode (we want you to enjoy it as much as we did). For that reason, we consider the following carefully structured and worded points to be teasers rather than outright spoilers. However, as always, we urge you to be cautious, as one man’s teaser is another man’s spoiler.

Here then are 5 things you might like to know about Bones’ upcoming “The Brother in the Basement.”

You’ve Got No Friend in Me

When we next check in on Booth we’ll see just how he’s managing to get along with that gunshot wound of his. Hint: it’s all going rather badly. If Booth doesn’t get medical assistance soon he will more than likely bleed out – a fact his cohorts, led by Dark Matter’s Roger Cross in a far less cuddly role, understands all to well.

However, instead of helping their injured ally, this corrupt gang are half hoping Booth might simply choose to die and leave them with an even larger profit margin.

“Twenty bucks says he doesn’t make it,” offers one of the gang in a callous moment of disregard for Booth’s suffering.

“All I got is hundreds!” laughs another, while a third chimes in, waving a flashlight, “Go to the light!”

It looks like Booth is going to have to save himself because these guys have nobody’s back.
