Could FOX’s New Buddy-Cop Robot Show Be the Next Fringe?

By on September 6, 2012

Bad Robot continues to look to the future for inspiration, it seems. The JJ Abrams-helmed production company responsible for FOX’s Fringe and NBC’s upcoming Revolution has landed a pilot commitment for a new show set in the near future. The news broke earlier today via Deadline that the untitled joint Warner Bros/Bad Robot project had landed at FOX.

The show is described as an action-packed buddy cop show set in the near future where all LAPD officers are partnered with human-like androids.

The script is being written by J.H. Wyman who took on show running duties this season on Fringe. With Fringe bowing out his year after a final run of thirteen episodes, the door is open for a new futuristic genre show to fill its shoes. Could this be it?

More as we have it.
