THE BLACKLIST “Zarak Mosadek” Sneak Peek: Red Outlines His Plan to Bring Down Garvey

An unusually pensive Red (James Spader) finally outlines his plan to take down Ian Garvey (Jonny Coyne) in this new sneak peek clip from Wednesday’s episode.
Titled “Zarak Mosadek” the installment will see Red chasing down an Afghan heroin supplier whose name he was able to salvage from the deceased port manager’s blood-stained ledger from last week.
Knowing Garvey is, as Red describes him, “a drug lord masquerading as a cop,” it makes sense that securing leverage against his supplier in turn secures leverage against Garvey himself.
The plan, outlined in whispers to Liz (Megan Boone) against the backdrop of a screening of Gilda ( a movie replete with small time thugs, murder, betrayal and unhealthy relationships) in an empty theater, seems to hint at a tired and somewhat sad Red, who laments “It must be nice. Not having anything precious you want to keep to yourself.”
I don’t know, Red. It’s been almost an entire season, and we still don’t know whose bones those are in the duffel bag. You deserve at least some credit for your ability to keep that secret from an entire fandom.
Meanwhile, an equally subdued Liz privately sets out to bring down Garvey using her own methods.
The “Zarak Mosadek” episode of The Blacklist airs Wednesday, April 11 (08:00PM – 09:00PM) on NBC.
