DESIGNATED SURVIVOR Lands at Netflix For Season 3

While “keep showing the voters who you are and the rest will take care of itself,” may seem like prescient advice for the Trump presidency, this nugget of wise counsel actually comes from Italia Ricci’s Emily Rhodes in the aftermath of a disastrous State of the Union address in Designated Survivor’s upcoming third season.
A new teaser trailer sets the scene for the 10 episodes that will drop on June 7, including a president who has somehow fallen out of step with his electorate to such a degree Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) must now face the reality of being a one and done president.
With the presidency essentially thrust upon Kirkman back in season one, we have yet to see what America’s most humble commander in chief might or might not be willing to do on the campaign trail.
With loglines that tease the question can a good man stay a good man surrounded by the world of politics? we get the feeling it’s going to be a long road ahead for Tom this season.
Also featured in the new video are season 3’s freshest faces including likable new chief of staff Mars Harper (played by ER’s Anthony Edwards), and Digital Officer Dontae Evans (Benjamin Watson), a gay black man who keeps the president woke on issues of diversity.
Also on board this season are Julie White (Nurse Jackie) as campaign manager Lorraine Zimmer, and Elena Tovar (General Hospital) will play Isabel Pardo, the White House’s director of Social Innovation.
If you’re in need of a refresher (we don’t blame you; it’s been almost a year since the season 2 finale “Run” aired on ABC), you can catch a “Recap” trailer HERE.
