Dexter's Michael C Hall Rejects New Season Deal

Michael C Hall, star of Showtime’s long running crime thriller Dexter is in negotiations with the cable network over the future of the show.

Deadline reports that talks broke down over Hall’s proposed salary for additional seasons.

The actor’s current contract expires after the current sixth season, and it is said that he is seeking a new figure of $24 million for each of two additional seasons planned. Showtime however is only willing to offer $20 million but is said to be hopeful about a compromise.

One suggestion involved pushing ahead with a single season that would ultimately end the series.

Hall, who appeared buoyed up at the start of the season, said that season six is one of the darkest yet.

The tone is different this season,” said Hall. “There are some very dark things afoot in terms of the big bad – or bads – we’re dealing with.”

Dexter fans can only hope this doesn’t include an end to the series.
