Following on from last week’s tantalizing Season 6 artwork that seemed to definitively indicate (or did it?) that Jon Snow is very much alive, comes a new, also tantalizing, but extremely short video clip from Game of Thrones’ sixth season.
The video in question comes from HBO, and celebrates the best of 2015 in a year-ender clip compilation featuring a host of familiar shows and movies, and reminding us all of the channel’s staggering number of Emmy wins.
The Thrones segment features new season 6 footage comprising four characters, and we’re sad to report that no, Jon Snow is not one of them. (The poster seems to be the only tease on Jon’s fate for the moment.)
However, we do get to see Lena Headey’s Cersei Lannister and her emotional reunion with her son Thommen (Dean-Charles Chapman), following her ordeal at the hands of the High Sparrow and his followers last season.
There’s also a quick glimpse of a grime-ridden and seemingly heart-broken Daenerys, now very far from her palace at Meereen, as she faces a contingent of Dothraki alone in Essos.
Meanwhile, the despicable Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) is setting out on horseback, and looks to be leading his father’s bannermen into battle. Their always disturbing coat of arms is visible in the background, and fresh from the unexpected loss of his wife Sansa, his tormented slave Reek, and his sadistic lover last season, he appears to anything but upset.
The segment appears around the 2:12 mark, but we’ve included HBO’s Year-Ender video in full.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO in April 2016.
